The miniature Sovereign of Seas model ship in display case is moulded plastic and sails are made of cloth. The wooden display case has glass panes supported by solid teak.

Customer service couldn't have been better. Thank you, Karin. However, delivery was expensive as DHL charge a minimum extra charge of 14 euros to cover the risk of payment default (they say). That's in addition to the initial delivery charge of £15 and VAT. Also, the corners of two sails had been shaken loose en route: only noticeable on close examination. Excellent value for money. The hull looks like real wood. Apart from the corners of two sails having come unstuck en route, due to handling I've no doubt, I think the ship looks great on my mantel. And you only notice the loose sails if you look really closely.
