A London map based on Kristjana's work for The Shard in 2015. 'The Knowledge' can be found on the 32nd floor of the iconic building, once the tallest in Europe. Printed onto glass and back lit, this giant piece of art, at 5.0m x 2.8m, immediately catches the eye. Tiny LEDs light up the vibrantly bustling streets and the azure Thames pulsating through the centre.
‘Lundunar Kort Shard Gler Nal' Limited Edition print depicts a large map of London and the azure Thames flowing through the centre. Ornate flora and fauna provide pops of colour, a contrast to the more industrial side of London, with buildings made out of tools and industrial iron particles, for which there are many historical references. Don't miss Kristjana's elements of cockney slang and the quirky original street names.
Growing up in Iceland, where there are very few tall buildings, the impact the London skyline had on Kristjana was massive. She is truly inspired by this great city, and working on London themed artwork is a passion of hers.
