The frigate Berlin was a warship that belonged to the Brandenburg Navy and was built in Zeeland, a province in the Netherlands, in 1674. It was a three-masted vessel with a displacement of around 400 tons and was armed with 20-26 cannons. The Berlin was part of a fleet of ships commissioned by the Elector of Brandenburg, Frederick William, to defend his territories in the Baltic Sea against Swedish aggression.

In 1678, the Berlin participated in the Battle of Oland, where a combined fleet of Dutch and Brandenburg ships defeated the Swedish Navy, marking a turning point in the war between Sweden and its northern neighbors. The Berlin continued to serve in the Brandenburg Navy for several years, participating in various engagements and patrols in the Baltic.

In the early 18th century, the Berlin was sold to the Dutch Navy, where it was renamed the Maria and continued to serve for several more years before being decommissioned and eventually scrapped. The Berlin's legacy lives on as a testament to the naval power of the Brandenburg-Prussian state and its role in the wider geopolitical landscape of Northern Europe in the 17th century.
