The Le Superbe was a French warship that was commissioned in 1784, during the reign of King Louis XVI. The ship was designed by Jacques-Noël Sané, a naval architect who was known for his expertise in shipbuilding. The Le Superbe was one of the largest and most powerful warships of its time, and it played an important role in the French Navy.
The Le Superbe was a three-masted ship of the line, which means that it was a heavily armed warship that was designed to fight in naval battles. The ship was 62 meters long and 16 meters wide, and it had a displacement of 2,300 tons. The ship was armed with 74 guns and had a crew of over 800 sailors and officers.
The Le Superbe served in the French Navy for over 30 years, and it was involved in many important naval battles during that time. The ship was part of the French fleet that fought in the American War of Independence, and it was present at the Battle of the Chesapeake in 1781, which was a decisive naval victory for the French over the British. The Le Superbe also saw action in the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.
Despite its impressive record of service, the Le Superbe was eventually decommissioned in 1811, and it was broken up for scrap. However, the ship's legacy lived on, and it was remembered as one of the most important warships in the history of the French Navy.
Trois navires achetes de tres bonne qualite. Le rendu est superbe. Un seul léger problème sur un mat cassé sur la Surprise mais vite réparé. Je recommande cette entreprise.
I received my Le Superbe model yesterday, and it sure lives up to its name... IT'S SUPERB! After having previously purchased a HMS Victory model from admiralty ship models, just with that model this one is also a wonderfully made, detailed and handsome model and is nothing short of awesome! its clear that each model is made with care and to a very high standard... not to mention great customer service too : )
