HMS CONCORDE MODEL SHIP
This model ship is a representation of the HMS Concorde of 1793 after her capture and subsequent refit in Chatham. It is inspired from the original profile plans of the Concorde of 1777 which established a new class of French frigates of that period. The model possesses distinctive decorations with a golden British lion figurehead bearing the British Crown. The stern also bears the British Coat of Arms with the statement "Dieu et Mon Droit” (God and My Right) as per refit undertaken by the British Admiralty in 1793. The golden decorations contrast extremely well against the varnished wood resulting in a classic and sumptuous display model.
