HMS Queen Elizabeth was commissioned into the Royal Navy on December 7, 2017.
The construction of the Queen Elizabeth-class carriers involved various shipyards, including BAE Systems and Babcock, and it represents the largest warship ever built for the Royal Navy.
HMS Queen Elizabeth has a length of approximately 280 meters (920 feet) and a displacement of around 65,000 tons. The aircraft carrier has a flight deck that is 70 meters wide and 280 meters long, providing ample space for the operation of fixed-wing aircraft.
HMS Queen Elizabeth is designed to carry a variety of aircraft, with its primary focus being on the F-35B Lightning II, a fifth-generation stealth multirole fighter. The carrier is powered by two Rolls-Royce Marine Trent MT30 gas turbines and four Wärtsilä diesel generators, providing a high level of flexibility and efficiency.
