The Royal Yacht Mary was built by the Dutch East India Company and then presented as a gift to King Charles II after his restoration. Yacht Mary was the first official yacht used by the King of England. The beauty of the Royal Yacht Mary lies in its simplicity. The ship possesses two lee-boards acting as keel during navigation. Subsequent British Royal Yachts abandoned this design building their hulls deeper and sleeker. This model is in stock & ready for shipment.

WAPPEN VON HAMBURG (Medium Varnished Ship Model) {2007}

The Wappen Von Hamburg was built in the Deich-Tor shipyard in Hamburg by Dutch shipbuilders The Wappen Von Hamburg took up service in 1669. The Wappen Von Hamburg was used as an escort vessel on voyages to the Spitzbergen and the west. In 1683, whilst on the Cadiz route, a fire broke out in the bows and the ship exploded. Admiral B Karbfanger, along with 64 men lost his life in an attempt to save his ship. The body of the Admiral was buried in the Foreigners’ Cemetery in Puntales (Cadiz).

USS CONSTITUTION (Large Painted Ship Model) {2007}

The USS Constitutions also known as "Old Ironsides" was a 52-gun US Navy sailing frigate. The Constitution was used extensively in the wars against the then 'barbary states' of North-Africa. The USS Constitution was also instrumental in the war against Great Britain. HMS Java, HMS Guerriere are amongst USS Constitution's most famous victims.

HMS AGAMEMNON (Large Painted Ship Model) {Arriving Soon}

HMS Agamemnon was a Royal Navy third-rate ship of the line with an armament of 64 guns. She was built at Buckler’s Hard on the Beaulieu River in the New Forest, was launched on the 10th of April 1781.

In 1793, Agamemnon was recommissioned under Captain Horatio Nelson and sent out to join the Mediterranean Fleet under Lord Hood. It was during this command that Nelson lost the sight of his right eye at the siege of Calvi, Corsica, in 1794. By 1796 she was worn out and returned home in the summer without Nelson, by now a commodore, who shifted his broad pennant to the Captain. In 1805 Agamemnon, by then under the command of Sir Edward Berry, took part in the Battle of Trafalgar.

The Marquis de La Fayette upon his return to France from America endeavours to obtain France's support to the conflict. The Marquis de La Fayette conviced Louis XVI to give his backing. In 1780, La Fayette embarked on the Hermione to fight alongside the American insurgents for independence. This model will be ready for shipment by 17th of November 2006.

ASTROLABE (Medium Varnished Ship Model) {In Stock}

The corvette L'Astrolabe initially the Ecurie, a horse transport ship of 390 tons was transformed for the transportation of men and ammunition. She was then modified for survey trips. In 1822, she undertook a world exploration voyage under Lieutenant Commander Duperrey. In 1825, she was renamed Astrolabe in memory of an earlier exploration ship commanded by Jean La Perrouse which was lost after surveying California, the west coast of North America, and remote areas of the western Pacific. Afterwards, the Astrolabe took part in exploratory expeditions. She sailed under Capt. Dumont d'Urville in 1837 and discovered the continent of Antarctica.

The Belem is now a training ship. The Belem was initially a cargo ship transporting sugar from the West Indies, coffee and cocoa from Brazil and French Guiana. After being sold and converetd for various purposes, she finally flew the French flag and is currently moored on Oostende (Belgium).

BELLE POULE (Medium Varnished Ship Model) {In Stock}

The Belle Poule is famous for bringing Napoleon's ashes back to Cherbourg, France (Painted black for the event). The first ship to be built in a covered shipyard. Her design was based on the USS Constitution class and obviously displayed very good sailing characteristics. She was active both in the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean.

SAN FELIPE (Large Painted Ship Model) {In Stock}

The San Felipe Launched in 1690, was one of the most beautiful Spanish ships of its era. She was led the Spanish Armada. San Felipe's role in the war against the British and French was to help protect Spanish settlements and harbours but also to transport gold from the new world. The San Felipe was armed with 96 cannons enough firepower to match the best ships the French and British navies had to offer. In 1705, the SanFelipe fought a heroic battle against 35 British ships but was captured by an English ship and badly damaged withouth any chances of being salvaged as a prize.

BATAVIA (Large Painted Ship Model) {In Stock}

The Batavia was built in 1628 in Amsterdam and was owned by the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The Batavia was struck by mutiny and a subsequent shipwreck off the west coast of Australia during her maiden voyage, upon which a drama followed. An exact replica of the Batavia is currently docked in Holland.

HMS Surprise (Medium Painted Ship Model) {See links left of screen}

She was constructed in Le Havre as L'Unité in 1794: a 24 gun corvette, armed with 8lb long guns. She was captured in the Mediterranean in April 1796 by the British frigate Inconstant and taken in as Surprise. She was re-armed and classed as a 28 gun ship with 24 32lb carronades on her main deck, 8 32lb carronades on the quarter deck and 4 6lb long guns on her foredeck. She sailed to Jamaica in July 1796 under the command of Captain Edward Hamilton. The big moment in her lifetime was the extraordinarily audacious cutting out of the frigate Hermione on the 24th. of October 1799. The Surprise sailed back to England where she was sold at Deptford in February of 1802. Part of her story was dramatised by Patrick O'Brian and depicted in the movie Master and Commander.
